Retired Air Force General Michael Hayden, who served as director of the NSA and CIA during the George W. Bush administration, says he “agrees” that the Republican Party is the most “nihilistic, dangerous and contemptible” political force of the contemporary era.

In a public Twitter tantrum, Financial Times associate editor Edward Luce said that despite covering extremism and violent ideologies throughout his career, he has never seen a political force as dangerous as today’s Republican Party.

Hayden, who has shown a striking fixation with former President Trump on his social media and even went so far as to suggest that the former Republican leader should be executed, responded to Luce’s tweet by saying, “I agree. And I was the CIA director.”

During the 2020 presidential race, when the New York Post was censored on social media for daring to publish the story of Hunter Biden’s “infamous” laptop since it could have affected the Democratic victory, a group of former intelligence agents signed a letter pointing to the story as “Russian disinformation.” Among them was General Hayden.

In the letter, the ex-agents noted their “deep suspicions” that the Russian government had its hands in the Post story for the purpose of smearing the Biden family name. This, assuming also that then-President Trump harbored ties to Russia, given the suspicions stemming from the so-called “Steele Dossier.”

“If we are right”, read the letter, published Politico, “this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we strongly believe Americans should be aware of this.”

Thanks in part to the intervention of Hayden and his former CIA colleagues, the Hunter Biden story was hushed up for more than a year. Its publication was prevented, as was any discussion of it in the mainstream media, and Joe Biden’s campaign emerged unscathed from what could have been the biggest scandal of his long political career.

After nearly two years of its publication and a cover-up by the Democratic media, the New York Times finally admitted that Hunter Biden’s laptop is real and that its contents, which include a wealth of emails, text messages, photos and financial documents, would detail how the president’s son used his family’s political influence to benefit his personal interests abroad.

Shortly after, an investigation revealed that the Steele Dossier, the documentary basis that Democrats and their associated media used for years to attack Trump and even take him to two unsuccessful impeachments, was a lie built with the goal of toppling the democratically elected president and preventing his re-election.

The investigation even detailed that Hillary Clinton’s campaign leaked the Steele Dossier to the press knowing that its contents could be unreliable.

Nevertheless, Hayden continues to believe and promote that the Republican Party is a danger to democracy.
