PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN asked cancer patients present at a public speech not to jump off a balcony in what he thought would be an appropriate joke.

During a speech in which he addressed cancer survivors and patients, as well as doctors and nurses dealing with the disease, President Biden tried to be funny as he greeted the audience.

Addressing a group of cancer patients standing on a balcony, Biden said, “I wanna thank all of you. The cancer patients, survivors, caregivers… and don’t jump from up there, okay?!”

The silence after his joke said it all. When no one reacted to his failed attempt, the president continued to babble as he found the next lines of his speech on the teleprompter.

The Internet’s response: Making jokes about Biden

Some users on social media, however, brought out their dark humor.

“You’re all absolutely radiating,” added one tweeter, ironically referring to the radiation therapy patients.

One user felt like slapping himself

For another tweeter, it seemed tantamount to “asking a wheelchair bound man to stand”

This other netizen commented, “He realizes the mere sound of his voice makes people want to do unspeakable things”

For other users, the comment was simply repulsive
