Dream Retirement? Fauci to Cash In $350K Pension from Taxpayers

The White House’s top epidemiologist, Anthony Fauci, will receive at least $350,000 a year after leaving his post. The information was given this Tuesday by Reason, which detailed that the doctor is the highest paid official in the government.

“He is currently the highest-paid federal official, making more money than the president, military generals, and even Cabinet officials. His salary in 2020 was $434,000, though he likely made more in 2021 and 2022.,” Reason detailed.

The media outlet detailed that “Fauci will be able to make much more money than that. He will surely write books and give speeches. Indeed, the doctor is well-positioned to capitalize on his newfound fame as a hero to Team Blue. No public official, not even President Joe Biden himself, personifies the U.S. government’s pandemic approach quite like Fauci.”

Anthony Fauci’s resignation

Yesterday, Anthony Fauci announced that he will resign as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in December (NIAID). He assured that the decision was made because he has other projects in his career.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to have led the NIAID, an extraordinary institution, for so many years and through so many scientific and public health challenges. I am very proud of our many accomplishments. I have worked with — and learned from — countless talented and dedicated people in my own laboratory, at NIAID, at NIH and beyond. To them I express my abiding respect and gratitude,” Fauci wrote in a statement posted on the institute’s official website.

Dr. Fauci has been widely questioned for recommending controversial health policies that limited Americans’ individual freedoms, such as mandatory facemask use. One of his biggest critics, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), weighed in on Fauci’s resignation, explaining that it will not stop investigations into the epidemiologist’s alleged involvement in the potential lab leak that may have given rise to COVID-19 in Wuhan.

“Fauci’s resignation will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic. He will be asked to testify under oath regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak,” Paul wrote.
