NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom, who has gained popularity in the media for his strong criticism of authoritarian regimes such as those in China and Turkey, was confirmed as a guest speaker at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp made the announcement on his official Twitter account with a simple caption, “CONFIRMED.”

Kanter Freedom, a conservative voice in the NBA

The Boston Celtics center has become a conservative voice in sports in recent months, especially after referring to Xi Jinping as a “brutal dictator” and openly criticizing the double standards of woke celebrities like LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Jeremy Lin.

The athlete also made a patriotic gesture by adopting the word Freedom as his middle name after receiving his American citizenship. He referred to the United States as the “greatest nation in the world” and said he was proud to be a citizen of the “land of the free, and home of the brave.”

CPAC 2022 will take place in Orlando, Florida, from Thursday, February 24 until Sunday, February 27.
