One of the most important races for Republicans in the House of Representatives is in Florida’s 27th district. There, Maria Elvira Salazar (R) will defend her seat tooth and nail against progressive Annette Taddeo. Creativity in campaign ads is no exception in this race and a new material from Latino Vote for America became popular in the last hours.
The aforementioned political action committee (PAC) took advantage of the proximity to Halloween to dress up Taddeo as a “socialist witch,” accompanied by Nancy Pelosi, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortéz and Donna Shalala.
The four appear at the beginning of the ad wearing dark black robes, while the voice-over assures that “the Council of Socialist Witches has made its decision. Annette Taddeo will be their representative in Miami.”

“Its now up to us to make our own decision, avoid the socialist nightmare and horrific inflation that she is tasked to bring to the south of Florida,” continued the gravely voiceover that accompanied the video.
In closing, the ad asked its recipients to say “no to socialism and darkness” and to say “no to Taddeo in Miami.”
A native of Colombia, Taddeo currently serves as a state senator and was a candidate for lieutenant governor of the state accompanying Charlie Crist in his defeat of Rick Scott in 2014.
She will be looking to unseat Maria Elvira Salazar, who won her seat after defeating Donna Shalala in 2020. According to polls, the Republican would prevail again in November and help forge a majority in the lower house.
