One of the liberal panelists on ABC’s show, The View, caused uproar on the panel by referring to black Republicans as an “oxymoron” and saying she doesn’t understand how black or Latino Americans can support the GOP.

The panelists were discussing newly appointed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and her colleague Suzanne Malveaux, a CNN reporter, and a possible conflict of interest for remaining in their jobs after the appointment.

In the midst of a discussion with co-host Ana Navarro, panelist Lindsey Granger said that despite not supporting many of former President Trump’s policies as racist, her conservative values pushed her toward the Republican Party.

That’s when panelist Sunny Hostin interrupted Granger to ask if she was a Republican. When Granger responded that she was, Hostin said, “I think it’s an oxymoron, a black republican.”

Granger pointed to Navarro and pointed out to Hostin that she, his friend and co-worker, is also a Republican. “Well I don’t understand either of you”; “I don’t understand black republicans and I don’t understand latino republicans.”

When Navarro responded to Hostin by saying that “today it is not about me and it’s not about you,” panelist Joy Behar ended the segment.
