First Openly Trans U.S. Army Officer Faces Conspiracy Charge for Providing Secret Information to Russia

The DOJ reported Thursday that the doctor, a U.S. Army major, the first openly trans officer faces a conspiracy charge for providing information to Russian officials amid the Russian invasion.

She is Anna Gabrielian, 36 years old. Her husband, Jamie Lee Henry, who is a 39-year-old anesthesiologist, is also charged with conspiracy on behalf of Russia. “The indictment was announced by U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Erek L. Barron and Special Agent in Charge Thomas J. Sobocinski of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Baltimore Field Office,” the DOJ detailed.

“According to the eight-count indictment, Gabrielian and Henry conspired to cause harm to the United States by providing Russia with confidential health information of Americans associated with the American Government and Armed Forces,” the report continued.

Betrayal to the army

According to the indictment, beginning on August 17, 2022, Gabrielian and Henry conspired to provide secret information related to patients at Medical Institution 1 and Fort Bragg to an individual they believed was working for the Russian government. However, he was an undercover agent.

The DOJ explained that if convicted, the defendants face a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison for conspiracy and a maximum of 10 years in federal prison for each count of disclosure of individually identifiable health information.
